### Week of 1/4-1/8/2016

Tutoring- I have course extension for the next two weeks, so no afternoon tutoring until the week of 01/19. Typical tutoring times will be posted the week of January 18th. I am finalizing my afternoon schedule currently.

Mornings this week will be Thursday and Friday.

Assessments: None this week, first unit quiz is next Tuesday 1/12 and first unit test is the following Wednesday or Thursday ( depends on the mastery of the concepts)

All factoring this week is very important, this skill is used all semester long!!!

Monday

Holiday for you, enjoy the freedom!

Tuesday

Your first day in my class and I look forward to meeting you. The focus of class will be informational on the course, how to be successful and to ensure you are in the correct course.

HW: Supplies needed for my class

Wednesday

Today, we are ready to review quadratics from the Geometry course. If you do not remember some topics, no worries as I will teach all topics to depth. Focus today is how to multiply binomials and factor a = one trinomials.

Help:http://www.algebrahelp.com/lessons/simplifying/foilmethod/

HW: Study the FOIL Method, you must know it for my class!

Thursday

Today, we are focused on factoring trinomials ( a equals and not equal to one).

Help:http://www.themathpage.com/alg/factoring-trinomials.htm ( I use a slightly different approach in class, yet it is good information here)
