PreCalculus weeks of 01.16.2018-01.20.2018 and 01.22.2018-01.26.2018



 I will  make this post for two weeks, as the first week was only one day of school.

Open House:   Wednesday 01.24.2018 at 6pm. 

Tutoring- no afternoon appts this week or next week  due to Course Extension, see me for morning times

Assessments:  Unit Test projected to be early next week ( 1/29 or 1/30)

Well, we had school one day this  past week, so I will revise this entry and make the entry for two weeks!

Assessments: Quiz on Thursday ( Pushup problem, Felicia's Task,  Verbal to Algebraic Expressions)

The week of 01.16,
Tuesday, 1.16, the class worked on finishing up the Penguin/ Igloo activity, focused on simplifying expressions
Wednesday to Friday, no school

This week 01.22.2018-01.26.2018, , we explore the expressions by looking at:
Common vocab for algebraic expressions
verbal to algebraic expressions ( lots of practice in class on this standard)
 The distributive property

CRM- week of 01.08.2018-01.12.2018

Tutoring: Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning

Assessments; Quiz on Thursday or Friday

This week, I will try a new blog format with a summary of the week vs. day to day.

This week, the class will enjoy a snow day on Monday and then lessons the rest of the 4 day week.
 We study the road runner problem, Felicia's task, speed Gonzalez problem ( all related to prep for Felicia's task). Also, we look at simplifying expressions and review the mascot pushup numbers.

PreCalculus week of 01.08.2018-01.10.2018

Assessments: Possible quiz on Friday

I will try a new format this week on the blog to give an overview of the week vs. day by day.

This week, we will have 4 days of instruction, with a snow day on Monday. The topics of study will be scalar multiplication, multiply matrices with Ice Cream Task, equal matrices, combo of add, subtract, scalar and equal matrices.

 The 4th block class will have an SLO on Tuesday, 4th block. You do not study at all for this assessment.

This course is designed to help you to review Algebra 1 concepts and some Algebra 2 concepts at a slower pace, to provide a stronger math foundation for post high school studies.  Also, you need to work hard each and every day, be present, have a positive attitude and believe in yourself.
