Snow Days are here!

Hello all students:
I hope all of you are enjoying the days off. You shall enjoy the time off, do not stress about the class. I will let you know on Friday the rest of the plan for the current unit.
I expect a unit  test Wednesday, as we have a few more lessons in the unit and we need to review the current material.

Enjoy the time off!

Advanced Algebra weeks of 2/23- 3/6/15

Here is an update of the events for the past week and then this week, all in one past with 3 snow days last week:

Tutoring:   Tuesday and Thursday  afternoons and Friday morning.

Assessments: Unit test is Wednesday, March 4th, 2015

Monday
Today, we will look at finding all roots of a polynomial and how to find the roots of a 4th degree polynomial. Also, we write the equation of a polynomial given the roots. You will receive your unit 2B quiz back.

2/24-2/26 Snow Days

Friday and Monday
Today, we review the material learned thus far in the past few days ( roots of polynomials and writing equations of polynomials from roots).   We write the equation of a polynomial with imaginary roots. Also, you will complete a circle problem of all the steps of finding roots and then writing the equation of a polynomial. In addition, we solve a system of equations graphically and algebraically.

HW; None

Tuesday
It is sketching the graph of a polynomial given characteristics and review for the unit test.

HW: Finish review sheet and study for unit test

Wednesday
Test day!! I hope you are ready to show me what you know and to score an A on the test. The review sheet is very similar to the test, so the review sheet is a practice test.

HW: None, test day

Thursday
You can wrap up the test if needed and work on a circle problem. If time allows, the class works on a box task, an application of polynomials.

HW; None

Friday
Today, we finish up  the box task.

Have a great weekend!

Advanced Algebra week of February 16-20, 2015

Tutoring: Thursday afternoon and  Friday morning

Assessments: Quiz will be Thursday this week and Unit 2B test is next  Wednesday

Monday and Tuesday
I hope you enjoyed the days off!  I spent time resting, grading your unit 2A tests and exercising at the gym. You do not have to review any material for my class, just relax for a few days.

Wednesday
We will review the characteristics of polynomials today and synthetic division. I will likely run a quick review of factoring. Also, you will receive your unit 2A test back for review, I highly recommend a retest of the unit test.
Go Faclons on round one of the state tournament!

CCGPS Advanced Algebra February 9-13, 2015

Check out new videos at the top of the blog.

Tutoring: Tuesday afternoon and Thursday  morning. I am unable to tutor Friday morning due to a parent teacher conference.

Assessments: Unit Two test is Monday and unit 2B quiz is tentative for Friday or Monday.

Monday
Today, you shall shine, as you take the unit 2A test. I have provided the review sheet and key for you to study. The review sheet is a GREAT prep guide for the test.
Help:http://www.themathpage.com/alg/factoring-trinomials.htm ( Ok, I highly recommend the notes given in class)
HW: The house worksheet is due by Friday

Tuesday
Today, we start unit 2A, with factoring by grouping and complex numbers. The class will work on a puzzle for imaginary numbers, you can have 4 answer choices, a great way to check your work.
