Welcome to Advanced Algebra! I will post each week by Sunday midnight tutoring times for the week , upcoming assessments and planned topics each day.
Tutoring: Friday at 7:45. Next week's tutoring may be different from my typical tutoring times due to course extension instruction.
Assessment: Quiz on Tuesday, 01/13 and test is tentative for Wednesday 01/21.
Tuesday
Welcome to 2nd semester! I hope you have a successful semester in math class, I will give some tips for success. I will spend time looking over your transcript to ensure you qualify for my class and if you are a senior, to make sure all 4 math credits will be met. The class will spend time sharing with me words, pictures, images to describe them. I like to get to know a student first before we enter the math curriculum.
HW: Purchase needed materials ( writing utensils, paper, calculator and notebook)
Wednesday
We will start the curriculum today, come ready to learn new material. we will start class with poster presentations, followed by mean, median, mode and range using data collected with height. Also, if time allows, we will create a dotplot and a histogram of the data.
Help:http://www.mathsisfun.com/data/histograms.html
HW; Secure materials needed for class
Thursday
It is day two of the unit, we will review the box and whisker plot and extend to comparision of box plots and histograms. I will review all parts of the box and whisker plot in case you forgot some parts of this topic. The comparison of the graphs is likely new for you.

Friday
Yes, we made it to the end of the week. Today, you will look at a normal distribution model and note the skewness, mean, median. Also, we will apply the Empirical Rule and answer questions of a normal distributed model.
